Jackets Move Up to No. 15 in AVCA Poll

Georgia Tech Volleyball Earns Highest Ranking in School History

The Georgia Tech volleyball team has moved up to No. 15 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Coaches Poll, the highest ranking in program history. The Jackets were previously ranked No. 18 in the poll.

Undefeated Start to Season

Georgia Tech has started the season with a perfect 7-0 record, including wins over three ranked opponents: No. 23 Florida, No. 24 Purdue, and No. 25 Oregon. The Jackets are also 2-0 in ACC play.

Strong Attack and Defense

The Jackets' success this season has been fueled by a strong attack and defense. Georgia Tech ranks among the top 25 in the nation in both hitting percentage (14th) and blocks per set (13th).

Key Players

Several players have been key contributors to Georgia Tech's success this season, including:

  • Junior outside hitter Mariana Brambilla, who leads the team in kills (120) and points (132)
  • Senior middle blocker Breanna Edwards, who is second on the team in kills (87) and blocks (31)
  • Senior libero Sydney Wilson, who is averaging 4.1 digs per set

Tough Schedule Ahead

Georgia Tech will face a tough schedule in the coming weeks, including matches against No. 4 Louisville, No. 5 Pittsburgh, and No. 8 Florida State. The Jackets will also play in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, which features some of the top teams in both conferences.

Looking Ahead

If Georgia Tech can continue its strong play, it has a chance to earn an NCAA Tournament berth for the first time since 2016. The Jackets are currently projected as a No. 11 seed in the tournament.
