Christi Lukasiak, the beloved dance prodigy and breakout star of the reality television series 'Dance Moms,' has announced her retirement from competitive dance.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Monday, Lukasiak opened up about her decision, citing health concerns and a desire to focus on her personal growth.
"After much deliberation, I have decided to retire from competitive dance," Lukasiak wrote. "This was not an easy choice, but it is one that I believe is in my best interest both physically and emotionally."
Lukasiak, who has been dancing since the age of two, has achieved remarkable success throughout her career. She has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Teen Choice Award for Choice Dancer in 2015.
However, in recent years, Lukasiak has faced ongoing health challenges, including a back injury that has hindered her ability to perform at her peak. "My body has been through a lot over the years, and it's time for me to listen to it," Lukasiak explained.
Beyond her physical well-being, Lukasiak also expressed a desire to pursue other passions and explore new opportunities.
