Georgia Represented at 70th Meeting of UNWTO Commission for Europe
Government Officials and Tourism Industry Stakeholders Attend

Georgia was represented at the 70th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe, which took place from June 12-14 in Prague, Czech Republic. The Georgian delegation was led by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava, and included representatives from the Georgian National Tourism Administration, the Georgian Association of Tour Operators, and the Georgian Hospitality Association.
The commission meeting brought together government officials, tourism industry stakeholders, and experts from across Europe to discuss the latest trends and developments in tourism. The Georgian delegation participated in various sessions and workshops, including discussions on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism, sustainable tourism practices, and tourism investment.
During her address at the meeting, Minister Turnava highlighted Georgia's commitment to developing a sustainable and competitive tourism industry. She presented the country's national tourism strategy and shared Georgia's progress in implementing the UNWTO's Global Code of Ethics for Tourism.
The Georgian delegation also took part in a number of bilateral meetings with representatives from other countries, including the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary. These meetings provided an opportunity to discuss areas of cooperation and potential partnerships in the tourism sector.
The 70th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe was a successful event that provided Georgia with a valuable platform to showcase its tourism industry and strengthen its international partnerships.
